Anuga Select India 2026, co-located with Anuga FoodTec India 2026, India’s premium international marketplace for the food, beverage and technology ecosystem is set to return to Mumbai from 29 September to 1October 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, bringing together food and beverage manufacturers, global suppliers, importers, exporters, distributors, retailers, HoReCa professionals and key decision-makers from across the industry. Ahead of the Mumbai editions, the launch event for Anuga Select India and Anuga FoodTec India was held in New Delhi, setting the stage for the upcoming exhibitions and bringing together key industry stakeholders.
Building on the momentum of its 2025 edition, Anuga Select India and Anuga FoodTec India 2026, organised by Koelnmesse Pvt. Ltd., will offer an expanded B2B platform for product discovery, sourcing, networking and cross-border partnerships. The 2025 edition attracted more than 27,000 trade visitors and 380+ exhibitors from 19 countries, reinforcing its position as a key meeting point for the global food and beverage industry. The expo will showcase categories including Agrifoods, Dairy, Drinks & Hot Beverages, Fine Foods, Food Service, Organic, and Sweets & Snacks, reflecting the evolving needs and opportunities across India’s food and beverage market.
The launch event has witnessed the participation from senior representatives across government, industry bodies and international trade missions. The distinguished Dr. J.P. Dongre, Deputy Agricultural Marketing Advisor & Director, Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MOFPI), said “The Indian food processing industry is valued at over US$500 billion (estimated), with immense potential to convert India’s strong agricultural production into value-added products, improve quality and shelf life, and expand exports.
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is supporting micro, small, medium and large entrepreneurs with financial assistance for modern machinery, packaging infrastructure and cold-chain facilities. With over 2 Million Small & Micro entrepreneurs currently operating largely in the unorganised sector, the Ministry has already formalised two lakh micro entrepreneurs through the initiatives undertaken under PMFME scheme over the last five
years and proposed to achieve more over the next five years. This will help Micro entrepreneurs to adopt better processing and hygiene standards. Post-harvest losses remain another major opportunity, with our earlier study estimating agricultural produce worth over ₹1.5 lakh crore being lost. Strengthening storage, warehousing, cold chain and processing infrastructure can help convert these losses into value. India’s food processing level has
risen from just 3–4% a decade ago to 16–17% today, and we aim to take it to 25–30% by 2030 or 2047, bringing us closer to leading European countries.”
Mr. Amit Lohani, Founder & Director, Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), said “India’s market for international foods has transformed significantly, with nearly 30% of our members now also operating as exporters and manufacturers, producing products such as Italian pasta, French butter and Belgian biscuits in India through joint ventures. Today, FIFI represents around 7,000 members, with over $13 billion in food imports and approximately $60–65 billion in annual F&B sales. Consumer preferences have evolved sharply, with
products such as Brazilian coffee and Ecuadorian quinoa becoming everyday pantry staples.
This growing demand is key to attracting global investments of $100 million to $500 million, as companies first need to establish market traction.
Importers and distributors provide that crucial first-market link across retail, e-commerce, quick commerce and HoReCa, particularly in a market with 18% unorganised trade. With 25 lakhs registered FBOs and around 75 lakh small operators, compliance and traceability are increasingly important. As the EU FTA approaches, we expect greater access for European products, including the possibility of olive oil duties reaching zero. Platforms such as ANUGA India can further strengthen this ecosystem by connecting international exporters with Indian importers and creating new B2B opportunities.”
line-up includes Dr. J.P. Dongre, Deputy Agricultural Marketing Advisor & Director, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI); Mr. Amit Lohani, Founder & Director, Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI); Dr. Raghav Jadli, President, All India Food Producers Association (AIFPA); Volker Klima, Head of Agriculture & Food Division, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, New Delhi and Pawel Stachowiak, Counsellor, Trade & Economic Affairs, European Union, alongside Mr. Milind Dixit, Managing Director – India & SAARC Region, Highlighting the opportunities for Indian food processors, particularly MSMEs, Dr. Raghav Jadli, President – All India Food Producers Association (AIFPA), said, “Platforms such as Anuga FoodTec India go beyond showcasing products by creating opportunities for joint ventures, technology partnerships and deeper import-export collaboration. India has a strong advantage in raw material availability, skilled manpower and competitive production costs, even as the industry faces rising packaging, raw material and logistics expenses. With
new trade agreements opening markets and younger consumers, driving demand for healthier and more nutritious products, the opportunity for value-added food processing is expanding significantly. Consumer behaviour has changed substantially over the past 15 years, with greater attention to labels, nutritional information and product quality. Greater access to advanced processing, packaging, AI and automation technologies can help Indian
manufacturers, scale efficiently and strengthen their global competitiveness.” Mr. Pawel STACHOWIAK, Counsellor Trade & Economic Affair – European Union, said “EU-India bilateral trade in agri-food products currently stands at around €5 billion, accounting for only about 4% of total bilateral trade of approximately €125 billion, highlighting the enormous potential for growth. The Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which we hope will be signed by the end of this year, is expected to significantly lower tariffs on agricultural goods on both sides, making products more competitive and affordable for consumers. We estimate that the FTA could double EU exports to India within five years of its entry into force, creating the potential for an even greater impact on agri-food trade. If
bilateral agri-food trade doubles from the current €5 billion, it could reach around €10 billion by 2032. However, translating this potential into reality will depend on businesses converting the FTA’s provisions into actual commercial partnerships, with platforms such as ANUGA Select India providing an important opportunity for EU and Indian businesses to connect and build these opportunities.”
Highlighting the potential for deeper India-Germany-EU food trade, Volker Klima, Head of Agriculture & Food Division, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, New Delhi, said, “India and Germany have significant potential to deepen and diversify bilateral trade in food and agriculture, building on established categories such as Indian tea and coffee while expanding into a wider range of food products. With around 60,000 Indian students currently in Germany, a growing Indian diaspora and increasing European interest in Indian cuisine and culture, demand for Indian food products continues to grow. The upcoming EU-India Free Trade Agreement can further accelerate this momentum by creating greater market access and new opportunities for businesses on both sides. At Anuga Select India, Germany is reinforcing this commitment through a dedicated German Pavilion
featuring at least 12 companies across food, beverages, confectionery and processing. The ‘Made in Germany’ label stands for quality and innovation, while stronger India-Germany-EU cooperation can contribute to greater trade, food safety and food security.”
Beyond the exhibition floor, the 2026 edition will feature a range of business and knowledge-led initiatives, including curated networking and matchmaking opportunities, industry conferences, the Culinary Corner, Retail Walk, CEO roundtables and other experiential programmes. These initiatives are designed to connect the entire food ecosystem from producers and manufacturers to retailers, foodservice operators and buyers and facilitate meaningful conversations around innovation, consumption trends and the future of food.
Mr. Milind Dixit, Managing Director – India & SAARC Region, Koelnmesse Pvt. Ltd, said, “North India represents a significant growth opportunity for India’s food and beverage industry, and our engagement in Delhi is a strategic step towards connecting more closely with this dynamic market. The region’s strong agricultural base, diverse food-processing capabilities, expanding manufacturing ecosystem and growing potential for value-added and export-oriented products make it an important market for both domestic and international businesses. Anuga Select India and Anuga FoodTec India provide a platform to bring these businesses closer to global markets, technologies and partners, creating opportunities for sourcing, collaboration and trade. India is rapidly emerging as a
market of choice for global food businesses, supported by evolving consumer preferences and increasing demand for organic and value-added products. With organic exports reaching USD 665.97 million in FY2024-25, the pportunity extends beyond domestic consumption to global markets. Through our Delhi engagement, we aim to strengthen these connections and create greater opportunities for businesses across the region, ahead of the upcoming Mumbai editions.” The country’s foodservice market is projected to grow from USD 85.19 billion in 2025 to USD 93.97 billion in 2026, while India’s agricultural exports reached USD 51.91 billion in FY2024-25, registering 6% year-on-year growth. With expanding opportunities across processed foods, organic products, snacks, beverages and value-added agricultural products, India is emerging as an important market for global sourcing, innovation and food trade.
With its strong international orientation and focus on business outcomes, Anuga Select India and Anuga FoodTec India2026 are poised to serve as a strategic meeting ground for companies looking to expand their presence in India, explore new markets, build partnerships and stay ahead of emerging food and beverage trends.
