LT Foods establishes new rice manufacturing facility in raichur with ₹60 million investment

LT Foods a global FMCG company has announced the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Raichur, marking a significant expansion in its rice production capabilities. The facility is specifically designed to focus on regional rice varieties, addressing the growing demand for diverse rice products in the market.
This strategic move reinforces the company’s commitment to its value chain for South Indian rice preferences and aims to capitalize on the growing formalization of the regional rice market. Karnataka is highlighted as a key market for regional rice due to its significant production and consumption of premium non-Basmati rice.
The new facility will have an initial production capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes per annum. Commercial production is slated to commence around February 2, 2026, pending necessary approvals. The project involves a capital expenditure of ₹6 crore, which will be financed through internal accruals.
Mr. Ritesh Arora, CEO – India Business & Far East, LT Foods Ltd., stated that this investment is crucial for strengthening the regional rice business in India, addressing the deep-rooted consumer relevance and consistent demand for varieties like Sona Masoori and Kolam, and ensuring a consistent consumer experience from sourcing to delivery.
