Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will visit Bhopal on October 3 to take part in a ‘Gau Palak Sammelan’ or Cattle Rearers’ Conference and other programmes, an official said.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed preparations for Shah’s visit with senior officials, including the chief secretary.
He said the Union minister will be visiting Bhopal on October 3 to present several gifts to the BJP-ruled state.
Yadav informed that a state-level ‘Gau Palak Sammelan’ will be held at the BHEL Dussehra Ground in Bhopal.
At the Cow Breeders’ Conference venue, Shah will inaugurate and inspect a state-level exhibition focused on the ‘Nyay Sanhita’. Later, he will address the conference.
More than 35,000 Gau Palaks and members of milk cooperative societies of the state will participate in the programme, the official said.
He will also lay the foundation stone for the IISER (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research) campus near Bhopal Bypass Bhouri and unveil the statue of Swami Vivekananda installed on the campus.
During the day-long visit, Shah will also inaugurate various dairy and processing plants, and quality testing labs in the state, the official said.
These projects include a dairy plant in Ujjain costing Rs 255 crore and a formulated milk product facility in Bhopal. The ground-breaking ceremony for the Bhopal Western Bypass will also be held on the occasion.
Shah will also distribute bonuses to cattle farmers from Bhopal and Indore Milk Unions and provide funds for cow shelters.
He will honour women engaged in cow-rearing and distribute acceptance letters under the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana.
Shah will be provided with detailed information about the activities completed under the Farmer Welfare Year in the state and the Balram Krishi Mahotsav, the official said.
