All food business operators (FBOs) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district, including bakeries, hotels, restaurants, resorts, and homestays, have been directed to obtain a valid FSSAI and trade licence immediately or face penal action, an official said.
An executive order in this regard was issued by Keyi Panyor, Deputy Commissioner in charge of Likha Tejji,.
The order said that under Section 31(1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, every food business operator (FBO) in India must secure a valid licence or registration from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) before starting operations.
The administration highlighted that operating without these credentials is a direct violation of federal law.
Under Section 31(1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, it is a statutory requirement for any food-related business in India to be registered with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) before opening its doors to the public.
Furthermore, the DC emphasized that running a business without a trade license issued by the competent local authority is strictly illegal and will no longer be tolerated.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed all FBOs to strictly follow food safety and hygiene standards in the preparation, storage and sale of food items.
The order, which has come into immediate effect, warned that violators would face penalties under the FSSAI Act and other applicable laws.
